So what I made for my artwork was a canvas of all the things I love to do or drink, say, play, ect. The materials I originally wanted to use sharpie because I got a whole bunch and never used them. But when I started it just didn't really work on a canvas and I wanted to use a canvas, so I used acrylic paint.

I chose the artwork "Medusa" by Caravaggio, because I love medusa and I really like the realism. I haven't seen this artwork but I have seen many artworks of Medusa but never this real. I never heard of the artist and I think it's because he was born in the 1500's, but I do like his other artworks to. I think this artwork is about war because the artwork was painted on a shield and I think Medusa was supposed to represent maybe fear. I think the artist created it because maybe at the time of his life there were wars and many people in fear. i also think he put Medusa on there because I saw he was born in Italy and I know there is a lot of greek mythology there as well as Greece. I do think this artwork is successful because he really did do an amazing job on making her look real and showing the fear. Artist: Carvaggio Merisi Title: Medusa Date: 1595-1598 Medium: OIl in canvas Location: Uffizi, Florence The three primary colors are red, blue and yellow. The secondary colors are green, purple and orange. Yellow is found at the top because it is the lightest. The hardest for me were purple and orange because I really never get anything that color. I really can't pick a favorite but the top 3 where was my honey holder, blue rose box and my ASL book. The lysol on Mrs. Underhills wheel stood out to me because it was a bigger brighter object and it was yellow.
My artwork is a girl sitting down with her face in her knees and in the distance there is a window and door all blocked up. The materials I used where acrylic paint and a canvas. I made my artwork by thinking of what's going on in today's world and I thought of everyone is trapped and can't go anywhere. The big idea is to show that we are all trapped from quarantine. My goal was to really show the point of the artwork and make the girl look like a person has good as I could. My overall thoughts are I do like this artwork and I thought I accomplished my goals. If I could change one thing though I would have not painted the boards so thick and made them a little darker to make it a little needer.
I havent started my artwork yet but I have some pictures of the materials I plan on using. My plan is having a girl sitting down with her head in her knees and in the distance it's going to be a window and door boarded up. It is supposed to represent today's world where all stuck at home. The limitation I am using is material and I plan on using paint (acrylic). Some other Ideas I had were a half and half tree showing the good side of the tree and bad side of a tree. What I need to do next is start sketching my artwork on my canvas and choosing the colors I would like to choose.
Im making a landscape of a front view of a lot of trees and in the back there is a brick wall. In the very back there is three skyscraper. I got this idea from New York because I would like to live there when Im older. I'm doing a Autumn scene because Autumn is my favorite season. I got some advice from Mrs. Underhill how to make trees and some technique. My artwork I did was based on a "post apocalyptic" artwork and a Frida kahlo piece of artwork to. The media I used were oil pastels, baby oil to blend and pencil. I started my artwork by looking up images I liked and some ideas from Frida Kahlo's artworks. My most obvious subject on my artwork are the colors especially the yellow and browns. I sketched my final and started with the biggest space which was the wall. Then I finished the rest. At the end I tried to detail the little things with pencil so you could see it better like the broken window, fruit and mouse. My big idea was just to show gross colors and kinda of a "end of the world" artwork. My goals were to get the shading as good as a can like the fruit and the little things but I think my biggest goal was to simplify the artwork but still make it look interesting to look at. My thoughts on my artwork are that I think I accomplished my goals and I look it got the look I was looking for. |
