I think my best artwork this semester are my mushrooms I made because I really liked how they turned out and I used multiple glazes. I would like my box a lot but I would like to redo the sides because I wanted them a little straighter. And I would have like to made the cover have sides so the top would stay on still. What I have learned in ceramics is that you have to be very patient with kiln and clay. One thing I wish I was able to do is make some more little pottery things but I didn't have time.

The multi-set I made were three mushrooms. I made mushrooms because I was inspired by these planting pots that looked like mushrooms and because I have a couple of mushroom posters in my room. I started out my using white clay and forming three stems for the base of the top of the mushroom hat. Than I formed plate like bowls for the hat and started carving designs into them. After fired I glazed them and used mutlipe colors. The final part was putting faces on which is my favorite part. The big idea of my artwork for me was to make what I had envision perfectly. My overall thoughts on my artwork is I really like them and definitely are my favorite pieces I have made.
For my small scale sculpture I had a hard time of what to make so I made earth. The reason I made this is because I was trying to show how we only have one small world and we need to take care of it. I envisioned this artwork to be somewhere were a lot of people would pass by like somewhere you could put it while driving by. Except much more bigger. I made it by putting two pots together and a forming a sphere after it got fired I used some water etching to make the outlines of the land and water. After I glazed and used the glazes "Olive Green" and "Tahiti Blue". I liked how it turned out but I would definitely try and make the sphere more round as much as possible.
The artist new skill I chose was "water etching" where you use mod podge or a special oil and etch a design on dry clay. The first two pictures were mine test pieces and the last two were my final ones. The supplies I used were white clay, mod podge and glaze. I think my test piece turned out the best but it definitely didn't turn out like it was suppose to. My second piece the water etching didn't show up at all and I think I did a couple more layers it would have. What I learned is that I need to put more layers of mod podge and to have a set design ready to do.
For this project we had to make a slab box which was super hard. The supplies I used were clay, clay tools and glaze. The glazes I used were "Seawind" "Bright Orange" and "Tahiti Blue". I had to redo my box three times before I could make it stable. The hardest part about making the box was trying to make the slabs straight. For the pattern the original pattern was my texture roller. But when I rolled it I didn't like how it looked on the slabs. So when I redid it I carved out a moon, sun and lines on them. I overall really like how it turned out and I'm happy that I redid the pattern.
For making my signature stamp I used the two studio habits Develop craft and Envision. When I do glaze my stamp I will use Develop craft again. I would like to redo my stamp in the future If I have time because mine initial turned into a "M" instead of "AH".
I think my best artwork was my artist steal one which was a cow. I liked this one the best because it was the one artwork that looked the most realistic and because I love animals. I would like to redo some things I my last artwork because I know I could've done better on some parts. Something I learned in art class that I can use outside of the class is that you gotta be patient. I don't think there was anything I wish I would've have done because I wanted to try clay and wheel and I got to in the beginning of the semester. The first picture is an artwork I really liked I wished I would've done something similar to it. I put this because I don't have another artwork of mine.
My artwork are three small canvases that I painted a dark navy blue to represent the night. I wanted to do a planet theme artwork and wanted to have one of the canvases have an animal but I knew I would not have finished my artwork on time so I did all three canvases plantes. On the canvases we have a sun, moon and another random planet that was supposed to be an animal but didn't have time. I created my artwork with the media oil pastels and acrylic paint. My big idea for my artwork was inspired by my room because I have a lot of planet pictures and tapestries in my room. My goals for this artwork were to have the planets look like planets and I really wanted the moon to stand out a little more because the moon is my favorite planet. My overall thoughts on my artwork are I wish I made the planets smaller and I wish I used paper instead of canvases for using oil pastels because it is very hard to blend on them. But overall I think I met my goal by having them look like planets and having the moon stand out more than the others.
I plan on doing 3 canvases and painting the background and using oil pastels to create the main focus in my art. I plan on having one canvas having a moon, one a sun and the other a wolf. Today I painted my canvases background and Friday I plan on sketching the outline on the canvases. The 3 pictures are examples of what I want to put on the canvases.
